12/29/06 Maputo !

Made it, bit of a rough flight but I'm still in one piece. It took a little while to get my visa once we landed. I met up with Kelly's sister & uncle at the Johannesburg airport. very nice people. reunited with Kelly... she looked really good, nice & tan. Seemed to be very cultured in Mozambiqan happenings.

Right now I'm standing on a 3rd story balcany of our hotel right in the middle of Maputo leeching off somebodys internet. This city is beautiful with it's historic cliffs and the people are very touchy feely. Went to this little park called the love park ? tons of couples just chillin... that seems to be the Mozambiqan way is to just chill. We had this awesome Mozambiqan chicken for dinner and it was worth a mention......

12/28/06 Johannesburg

Ok, I made it. 15 hours of direct flight from D.C to J-town. Honestly, it wasn't that bad. It was actually enjoyable, they (SAA) fed me good and there were tons of free movies to watch. Before I left D.C I took a cab to Wal-mart to get some passport photos & bug spray. I get back to the airport ($30 quid later) and security threw my bug spray out... I wasn't even thinking.

Anyway, flew into Johannesburg & went through "immigration" & customs and all of that fun stuff. Afterwards, took a shuttle straight to the Hotel. Oh my God, the room was so freakin nice. Reminded me of Vegas only south African style. I went to a nice dinner and got a fat steak (85R) and had "chocolate soup" for desert. It was very good and South African Airways paid for it all. I honestly am impressed with this airline, very pampered.

Haha, the waiter asked me if I was the guy from the "Tomato Juice" commercial. I said you must be mistaken, I've only done amature porn and it never made it to mass production. Anyway, what's funny is this guy insisted that I was from that commercial.

12/24/06 Mozambique or bust

It's Christmas Eve, less than 24 hours before I leave for Africa.... The ginormis scale of what I'm about to do hasn't hit me yet. I'm at my sister's house in Atlanta sharing Christmas with her and her family. My Uncle just came in from Michigan. He was absolutely shocked to hear of my Africa trip. I showed him a picture of Kelly from my motorcycle trip and he said she looks like my sister Stefanie, what the ?

My bags are packed I'm ready to go, I'm standing in this mini-purgatory in a nostalgic Christmas, I hate to wake you up to say goodbye. I'm leaving on a jetplane to Africa. I don't know if I'll be back again...

Took my first Malaria tablet today in preparation for the motherland. I'm really going to try and stick to my beliefs and the word of wisdom. Just because I'm in a different world doesn't mean I can ack with no regard to my progress. I know he'll unleash his furry.

I spent like three hours on Google Earth looking at Mozambique, costline, inland, what to see, what to do. I'm excited. The best scuba diving on the face of this earth ? yea, the trip will be nice. Swimming with whales & dolphins... Are you kidding me ? This trip will be well worth it.

What are my expectations ?

12/4/06 Wow

Things seem to be REALLY happening for me. I read the following quote and It's beautiful in it's simplicity, however, the last few months of my life living for God, seeking him as much as possible has made all the difference. So how could he not exist ? If what I'm feeling and what I'm physically seeing around me is not true than what is ? I have a picture perfect image of my life and how I want my life to be and the only way I see things happening is through Jesus Christ and his church. I don't have to look at any other religions... I found it. Now that I found it I have to hold up my end of the bargain.
